Italy’s Nhoa Energy has switched on a battery vitality storage system with a functionality exceeding 120 MWh within the SuAo plant in Yilan County, Taiwan.

It developed the ability for Taiwan Cement Group (TCC). It follows a 107 MWh vitality storage problem that Nhoa Energy commissioned for TCC in China’s Guangdong province in September 2023.

Nhoa Energy acknowledged in a press launch that its vitality storage methods meet the Enhanced Dynamic Regulation (E-dReg) service requirements set by Taiwan Vitality Corp. It acknowledged it helps industrial behind-the-meter peak shaving firms for onsite electrical power consumption.

Nhoa Energy acknowledged it now has greater than 550 MWh of methods in operation all through Asia, as part of a wider 2 GWh portfolio of on-line and under-construction duties all through 5 continents. It claimed that its SuAo system marks “one different key step in Taiwan’s vitality transition.”

The Taiwanese authorities have vowed to reach carbon neutrality by 2050. In January, storage specialist Fluence acknowledged that Taiwan’s largest authorities’ vitality storage system so far had commenced operations.
