Dominion Power Virginia’s largest battery storage facility up to now is at present operational.
The Dry Bridge Battery Power Storage System, positioned in Chesterfield County, can retail as much as 20 MW of electrical energy and is sufficient to energy 5,000 houses for as much as 4 hours, says the corporation.

Completion of the Dry Bridge facility comes on the heels of different latest battery storage developments for Dominion. In August, the corporation broke the floor on a 50 MW battery storage challenge at Dulles Worldwide Airport. As nicely, the corporation introduced its battery storage pilot tasks at Darbytown Energy Station and Virginia State College in September, each geared toward discovering longer-duration alternate options to conventional lithium-ion batteries.
